MY VISION : Dr GSS CENTRE FOR L.I.F.E (LAPAROSCOPY, INFERTILITY, FIBROIDS & ENDOMETRIOSIS) Coming from a remote district in Odisha and to join MBBS at Kolkata was not easy. But the passion never dried up.I always wanted to be a doctor in a special way to my patients with that personal healing touch with whom every patient could connect with. After completing my specialization in gynaecology, I really needed a boost in the form of laparoscopy to fascinate me because routine gynaecology work was boring stuff.

I had already received the ODIA ra GAURAV samman award in 2010 for removing a 15kg ovarian tumour on a very very poor female. I remember giving her medicine samples too and tiffin because she couldn’t even afford that. I have goosebumps even now when I think of her. But then the very thought of doing special surgeries through a keyhole took me to France, Germany, Italy to learn from all the gurus and practice laparoscopy in the best manner possible. In the meantime I also started to propagate the art by starting fellowship training courses in laparoscopy and helping budding endoscopic surgeons shape their future. People from far off places come to me seeking medical advice and that feels wonderful. The other thing that drives me is helping couples with problems of infertility. When they conceive, I am more happy than them. I feel blessed to be able to make a difference to their lives, to be able to bring a smile on their faces.

Making the impossible possible is the aim with blessings of Lord Shiva. Everytime a couple is blessed with a baby after waiting for so many years and running from clinic to clinic hoping for a child, every time a baby cries after coming out of the mother’s womb, everytime a patient is teary eyed when I have successfully operated on her, is the reason why I am a doctor. Hopefully my dream of ODISHA CENTRE FOR L.I.F.E (LAPAROSCOPY, INFERTILITY, FIBROIDS & ENDOMETRIOSIS) will be accomplished soon; a one stop solution for al complicated gynaecological problems. That is the goal and hopefully I will be able to accomplish it soon and continue to serve my patients because they have made me what I am today. I owe it to all of them for showing confidence and faith in me.
